The Gambia Postal Services Corporation (GPSC) offers a variety of mail services, mainly in the delivery of letters, packets, and parcels.

And what's the difference between these types of mail?

It is really a simple definition: any item that weighs more than 2 Kg is considered a parcel, and anything weighing less than that is letter-size. Letter-size items are further divided into letters and packets, depending on whether or not the item is in an envelope, or letter form, or in a packet.

Naturally, the cost of mailing an item depends, among other things, on its weight. For your convenience, you can review our current Postal Rates.

It is also worth noting the GPSC has a monopoly on the handling of letter-size items. By law, no entity other than the GPSC is allowed to handle the delivery of items less than 2 Kg in weight both within the country, and between the country and the rest of the world. Handling and delivery of parcels (i.e. items heavier than 2 Kg) is, however, not monopolized by the GPSC, and other companies can, and do handle and deliver them.

In addition to the above mail services, the GPSC provides post-postage services that allow various organizations, businesses to post their mail on credit, and be billed each month for their total postage charges. This service not only saves participating organizations and companies a lot of energy and effort, it also provides valuable means of saving money. For more information about how your company or organization can obtain approval for using post-postage services,
